As of 8 a.m. on September 8, 2021, the Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office completed the following: 346 non-emergency calls, 54 calls for service, 10 traffic stops and one inmate transports. They booked in 9 persons and released 9 persons.

  • Justin Bradley Matheny, 33, of Antlers, Okla. was transported from Pushmataha County, Okla. to Hopkins County at 1 p.m. on Sept. 7 on charges of alleged sexual assault of a child. Bond was set at $1 million. 
  • Kyle Daniel Goggans, 36, of Sulphur Springs, was booked in at 10:34 p.m. on Sept. 7 in the 1000 block of Broadway for an outstanding warrant for alleged violation of probation possession of a schedule one controlled substance. Bond was not set.
  • Jimmy Ray English, 49, of Dallas, was booked in at 4:16 a.m. on Sept. 8 in the 13000 block of Hwy 67 E in Saltillo for alleged possession of a schedule one controlled substance. Bond was not set.
  • Brian Winston Johnson, 39, of Cumby, was booked in at 3:43 a.m. on Sept. 8 in the 300 block of Frisco in Cumby for alleged possession of a schedule one controlled substance and tamper with/ fabricate physical evidence. Bond was not set.
  • Brooke Lanee McSparrin, 34, of Commerce, was booked in at 1:33 p.m. on Sept. 7 in the 1500 block of E. Shannon Road for alleged possession of a schedule one controlled substance. Bond was not set. 
  • A 39-year-old Sulphur Springs woman was booked in at 10:20 a.m. on Sept. 7 at the corner of Ashcroft and Texas for alleged possession of marijuana less than two ounces. Bond was not set.
  • David Brian Holcomb, 53, of Benton, Arkansas, was booked in at 8:08 a.m. on Sept. 7 in the 200 block of Farm Road 2356 South for alleged possession of a schedule one controlled substance, alleged possession of a schedule two controlled substance, alleged money laundering from $30,000 to $150,000, and alleged forgery of a financial instrument. Bond was not set. 
  • Joshua Luke Deal, 45, of Mount Vernon, was booked in at 4:16 a.m. on Sept. 8 in the 13000 block of Hwy 67 E in Saltillo for alleged possession of a schedule one controlled substance, alleged manufacture or delivery of a schedule one controlled substance, and alleged tamper with/ fabricate physical evidence. Bond was not set.
