Kacey Chicas was born and raised here in Sulphur Springs Texas. Born into a family of creatives, Kacey was engulfed into the life of creating with a passion. An example of some of her artwork you can see is her community art piece “Art gives you wings” which is in Downtown Sulphur Springs. Whitney Vaughan

Whitney Vaughan. Vaughan is the founder of  FitWhit and has experience writing health and fitness related columns in the past. Vaughan is also very active with Crossfit Sulphur Springs  and will now be sharing her work with us here at Front Porch News.

Most of my adult life I have been physically active, whether it was working out in a gym doing my own thing, following workouts in a book, running, following a kettle bell workout program, or being active in even previous years in CrossFit. Also, all of my adult life, I’ve been a mother, full-time student with a job, or full-time teacher. Finding time to workout has always been important to me, but I never really reaped the benefits of the physical activity and being “fit” until I started giving my body the nutrition it needed. I have three children. We are active in after school activities, and our family is involved in community events almost weekly. A plan that gave me exactly what to shop for and what to eat each day was necessary for me to be successful. Meal plans are perfect for that because I am able to take a few hours on the weekend to be prepared for the entire week to just grab and go.

Chad Kopal

President & Founder
The oldest of the team, Chad Kopal was born in 1974 in Kansas City, MO, but quickly found his way to Texas. Chad grew up in a home that saw him move around quite often. Attending 14 different schools from Kindergarten to graduation of High School, he quickly perfected the art of being comfortable in any situation.  After graduating High School, Chad attended a Bible College just outside of Houston for 2 years and then moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma to further his education. On a trip back to Sulphur Springs to visit his parents, Chad met his future wife Cristie, and quickly moved back to Texas. After dating for 2 years the two were married in Sulphur Springs in 1997 and have called it home ever since.

Chad and his wife were very involved in church work throughout Hopkins County for many years, serving as youth ministers and worship leaders up until 2014. While he was doing this he kept his day job for Copy Products for 14 years. In 2017 he was convinced by a group of friends to quit his job and throw everything he had into a startup company. Chad worked heavily in the marketing and presentation side of this company but after 18 months it was apparent that the start up was not going to pay the bills. Chad began offering his services in Video Creation and Social Media Management to friends and family and soon went to Facebook to promote what he was doing. In Chad’s words “I was just killing time and trying to scratch money together to pay my mortgage until I could find a real job.” Turns out Chad’s Media was his real job.

Starting in his laundry room at home in 2018 to today in their brand new office complex on historic Davis St. in Sulphur Springs, the team has grown from just Chad to now 10 full time employees. “I’m still waiting on someone to tap me on the shoulder and say it’s time to get a real job“, says Chad.
