You’re Not Crazy

Lately I’ll catch myself talking to myself saying, “I may be crazy but such and such just seems totally nuts.” I keep reminding myself that in the End Times good will be taken for evil and vice versa.  I understand and believe that it is a fulfillment of prophesy, but somehow it just gets to be almost too much to take.

The devil uses the technique of constantly repeating a lie hoping people will accept it and believe it if they hear it enough.  A world of nonbelievers out there with no spiritual foundation are likely to accept whatever news media and social media say is the truth.

For the youngers they’ve been steadily fed a diet of me first.  When they haven’t gotten what they think they deserved, they fall back on issues of victimhood and unfairness.  Throw in a general feeling of entitlement while you’re at it.

The irony of all this is that a majority of us old timers grew up in different times with different values.  We worked and liked to work.  We didn’t want freebies but preferred to work for things.  Most of us were wise enough to know there is no free money.  There’s usually a string attached to those things, and we don’t like being obligated to anyone.

How did it all turn around so fast?  Us old guys saw it coming.  Seems like a lot of the world preferred to put on blinders and hold out their hand.

Storm clouds on the horizon indicate that the dam is about to break any time now.  You can only stretch things so thin before they break.  Doesn’t matter whether it’s schools, public safety, border, our economy, the military, moral values, rights of privacy, value of human life, or religious tolerance,  all facets of our daily lives have been inverted, devalued, debunked, and generally we’ve been asked to give up our personal responsibilities of making decisions for our own good.  By letting others take over more of the choices and options in our lives we’ve come to look like the rapidly dying cultures and societies we hardly recognize overseas.

Sadly, too many of our people have been willing to trade our long held values of freedom and capitalism for government support and subsequent government control.  I am afraid we’re finding out that the end result is a mish mash that no longer resembles the place we grew up in.  I worry for my kids and the grands.  I find even now as I lie down at night I whisper, “Even so, Lord, come quickly.”
