A missing Rains County child has been located deceased, according to the Rains County Sheriff

At approximately 6:10 p.m. on March 23, Rains County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call on FM 2737 regarding a missing child.
 
The missing five year-old, “Miguel,” was described as non-verbal and autistic. Fourteen different law enforcement agencies, including Hopkins County, as well as numerous citizens assisted in the search. 
 
Rains County sheriff reports that the search ended at 8:57 p.m. when a male child matching the physical description was recovered from the pond on the property.
 
“Our hearts are heavy regarding the result of yesterday evenings call for service. There are no words that I can convey to help all that were involved directly or indirectly in this incident,” Rains County Sheriff Michael Hopkins said. “My heart goes out to the family and all Rains County Citizens that this has affected.”
 
The Rains County Sheriff’s Office will provide counseling services and resources for those involved in the search who may need them.
