If you’re anything like us, you look forward to Hopkins County’s fall festivities all year long. Check out the schedule of what’s coming up!

🍁 September 16: Como-Pickton homecoming @ home, 7pm

🍁 September 16: Cumby homecoming @ home, 7pm 

🍁 September 17: The gun show, Civic Center, noon

🍁 September 17: Farmer’s market from 5 p.m.- 9 p.m. feat. KVDE 

🍁 September 17: Shadow Ranch obstacles fundraiser, registration 8 a.m. 

🍁 September 17: Trees, Nature’s High Rises at Cooper Lake State Park, 2 p.m. at Coyote Trail Run

🍁 September 18: Master Naturalist Series at Cooper Lake State Park. Meet at Gulls Bluff Pavilion at 10 a.m. 

🍁  September 23-24: Lone Star Heritage Quilt Guild’s 21st Annual Quilt Show. 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at First Baptist Church’s ROC
 
🍁  September 24: Corvette Show and Shine. 10 a.m.- 2 p.m. on the Downtown Square, rain or shine

🍁 September 24: Adult prom, Fulghams,  6 p.m.

🍁 September 24: Archery 101 at Cooper Lake State Park, meet at 11 a.m. at the Buggy Whip Room.

🍁 September 25: Cancer fundraising lunch at Brashear Baptist Church, noon

🍁 Sept. 26, Sept. 29, Oct. 3, Oct. 6: Cooking well with Diabetes series, all at 1:30 p.m. at Hopkins County AgriLife

🍁 September 30: Hay Bale Contestants displayed all over town during the month of October 
 
🍁 September 30: Friday Night Frog Talks at Cooper Lake State Park, 7 p.m. at Sunset Cove
 
🍁 September 30- October 30: Terror Trail. For those who love spooks and frights and bumps in the night, the Terror Trail is open this year! Every Friday and Saturday night in October and Halloween night. Opening night is September 30, trails open from sunset until midnight. Admission: $10.00 Adults – $8.00 under 13 at 1085 Co Rd 1960, Yantis, TX 75497
 
🍁 October 1: John Chester Dutch Oven Cookoff, 11:30 a.m. at Heritage Park
 
🍁 October 1: Cattleman’s Classic and Ribeye Roundup. 6:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m., with steaks served to the public after 6 p.m. Downtown square in Sulphur Springs 

🍁 October 5: Ag in the classroom, Civic Center livestock arena, 8am-5pm 

🍁 October 8: Main Street Uncorked Wine and Music Festival. 1 p.m.- 7 p.m. on Main Street in Sulphur Springs  
 
🍁 October 8: St. James Catholic church annual auction, 5:30 p.m.- ?? at the Hopkins County Civic Center
 
🍁 October 15: Fall Festival Parade. Line up at 9 a.m., parade starts at 10 a.m. Parade travels from Buford Park to Brookshires Grocery Store. 
 
🍁 October 15: Help-a-Child Benefit, 9 a.m.- ? Hopkins County Civic Center grounds

🍁 October 14-October 16: Tyler Kennel Club Dog show, Civic Center livestock arena, noon

🍁 October 15: HCGS fall seminar, city hall, 9am-3pm

 
🍁 October 17-23: Triple T Amusements Carnival will be set up at Hopkins County Civic Center
 
🍁 October 21-22: Creative Arts Contest in the SSHS Conference Room, 1-5 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m.-1:45 p.m. Saturday
 
🍁 October 21- 22: Exhibition and vendor booths at the Fall Festival,  inside Hopkins County Civic Center, 10 a.m.- 4 p.m. on Friday and 9 a.m.-4 p.m. on Saturday
 
🍁 October 21- 22: Kids’ Zone petting zoo, barrel train rides and horse rides 10 a.m.- 4 p.m. on Friday and 9 a.m.-4 p.m. on Saturday
 
🍁 October 21- 22: Arts & Crafts Show, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the SSHS Cafeteria
 
🍁 October 22: World Champion Hopkins County Stew Contest at Buford Park. Service starts at 10:45 a.m. and guests are encouraged to be prompt if they want a bowl of stew. 
 
🍁 October 24-29: Third annual VR Screamfest! Including:
  • October 24-28: Outdoor horror movies at VR Social (317 Spring Street) all movies start at 6 p.m. 
  • October 29: Zombie walk from 317 Spring Street to the square, 66:30 p.m. Come dressed in costume! 

🍁 October 24: Early voting starts

🍁 October 28: Saltillo fall carnival, 5:30- 7p.m. Saltillo school 


🍁 November 3-5: Texafied Jamfest, Mama’s Place, Birthright TX. Exact schedule TBD 
 
🍁 November 5: Downtown Business Alliance Classic Car Show
 
🍁 November 17-19: UPRA Rodeo, Hopkins County Civic Center Arena, more information to come
 
🍁 November 24: Hopkins County Turkey Trot, more information to come
