Hopkins County first responders gathered on the morning of Sept. 10 to mark the 20th anniversary of the World Trade Center Bombing. Sulphur Springs Fire Department’s Rodney Caudle asked those assembled to reflect where they were 20 years ago.
“Maybe some of you were young, some of you were just starting your career in emergency services,” he said. “That day changed us forever.”
Those assembled joined in prayer, and a color guard from the Fire in Texas Academy raised the American and Texas flags at Hopkins County Fire Station 20 to half-mast.
“Life is short and there’s no time for hate,” Caudle said.
