As of 8 a.m. on September 4, 2021, the Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office completed the following: 220 non-emergency calls, 73 calls for service, 18 traffic stops and no inmate transports. They booked in 7 persons and released 3 persons.

  • A 30-year-old Sulphur Springs man, at 11:55 p.m. on Sept. 3 at the 133 mile marker of I-30, for no alleged driver’s license. No bond was assessed.
  • Angelia Nicole Smith, 27, of Sulphur Springs, on two counts of alleged possession of a controlled substance at 9:19 p.m. on Sept. 3 at the Royal Inn. Bond was set at $35,000. 
  • James Edward Kizer Jr., 42, of Sulphur Springs, on one charge of alleged possession of a schedule one controlled substance at 9:19 p.m. on Sept. 3 at the Royal Inn. Bond was set at $15,000. 
  • Danny Joe Wade Jr., 51, of Commerce, on one charge of alleged assault causes bodily injury family violence and one charge of alleged driving while license invalid at 5:26 p.m. on Sept. 3 on Seventh Street. Bond was set at $5487.50
