Updates on Cumby, Tira elections

The following updates are available regarding Cumby and Tira’s Nov. 5, 2021 elections:

CUMBY

Alderman Place 1 and 2 will now be on a special ballot, to run the same day as the general election, per a decision by the council at a Sept. 3 special meeting. 

As Place 3 (Wayne Mobley) and Place 5 (Ryan Horne) are unopposed, those council members will retain their seats. 

Currently, Places 1, 2, and 4 are up for election. Candidates are as follows:

Place 1- Undecided

Place 2- Undecided

Place 4- Katherine Marie Flinn, Althea Crocker

Deadlines to apply for Place 1 and Place 2 have not yet been set. 

TIRA

Tira Mayor Allen Joslin and council members Joyce Dodd and Janie Lewis signed up for another term on the Tira City Council. They are unopposed, and will therefore serve another term.
