SSHS Wildcat Theatre UIL One Act Play Contest Preview Performance Coming Up on Sunday

SSHS Wildcat Theatre will present a preview performance of their UIL One Act Play Contest show–YOU ON THE MOORS NOW this Sunday, February 28th, at 2pm before District competition next week.

The show: Four literary heroines–Jane Eyre (sophomore Danielle Verlander), Cathy Linton (senior Hannah Shultz), Elizabeth Bennett (senior Rorie Young), and Jo March (junior AllieGrace Woodard)–of the nineteenth century set conventionalism ablaze when they turn down marriage proposals from their equally famous gentlemen callers. What results is a confluence of love, anger, grief, and bloodshed, as the ensemble struggles to reconcile romantic ideologies of the past with their modern ideas of courtship. Everything you’ve learned about love from the pages of Pride and Prejudice, Wuthering Heights, Jane Eyre, and Little Women is turned upside down in this grand theatrical battle royale. Senior Caitlynn Monaghen, Juniors Lucy Braddy and Caleb Talmage, Sophomores Khira Young and Austin Crump , and Freshmen Jolene Reed, Talley Brown, Caroline Prickette, Addison Bradley, and Cadrian Davis round out the cast. Crew members Junior Emily Gotcher, Sophomores Ricardo Chavarria and Markida Hood, and Freshman Oliver Falter are under the direction of Technical Stage Manager, Junior Brandon Williams and Stage Manager, Junior Anayeli De La Cruz.
