…how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power. He went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with him.
Pain, on any level, spiritual, emotional, or physical is an indicator that problems are present. Pain is not a bad thing. Quite to the contrary, it’s actually healthy. Someone who no longer feels pain has far greater issues than those who do. Pain is good in the sense that it serves to bring your attention to something that needs to be fixed. Someone doesn’t need healing from their pain, they need healing from the source of that pain. Most people however, are more concerned with doing away with their pain than they are with actually fixing what’s causing it in the first place. This is why drug (both prescription and illegal) and alcohol abuse is such a widespread problem. People seek to, and prefer to, medicate or manage their pain rather than discovering and dealing with its cause, thereby allowing the problem to worsen, along with the amount of pain that it brings. This vicious cycle, if allowed to continue, leads to a miserable life at best. Is there pain present in your life right now? Are you hurting on any level? How you choose to respond to that pain will determine how quickly it goes away. You have the choice to pop another pill, take another drink, or find some other way to divert your attention away from it, or you can look into why you’re hurting. Seeking the proper diagnosis from the Holy Spirit, allowing Him to pinpoint the problem, will take you off of the path of misery and put you on a path healing and restoration. He is waiting to bring you into perfect wholeness by doing away with your pain, not just masking it. – Love and Blessings, Pastor Jeff
