ICE at the Gaylord Texan

By Addison Caddell

With only two weekends left in the holiday season, last-minute celebrating is in order. ICE at the Gaylord is only available until the 31st of December and you do not want to miss out on this year’s magical display of “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” featuring Dr. Seuss’s beloved characters of The Grinch, his dog Max, Cindy Lou and many festive Who’s from Whoville.

ICE at the Gaylord Texan is a long-standing tradition that got its start back in 2001. Since then, ICE has grown into a world-renowned event. In only six weeks over 40 master artists create a 17,00 square foot frozen wonderland for each of the Gaylord’s guests to enjoy.

This is truly a one-of-a-kind experience for all ages. And along with the Ice display is a great range of family fun to be had including The Grinch’s Wonderful Awful Idea Scavenger Hunt, Snow Flow Mountain (snow tubing), Snowball Build and Blast, Gingerbread Decorating, Ice Skating, Christmas Carousel, Mrs. Claus’s Christmas Traditions, and an Elf Training Academy.

There is so much to discover and enjoy at the ICE and is an incredible experience for any family or group of friends that is sure to bring about some holiday cheer as everyone prepares for the upcoming festivities. Tickets are available every day through the new year and range from twenty dollars for children up to forty for adults. The experience you get when visiting the Gaylord far outweighs the price of admission, and the memories to be made are ones to never forget.

Kat was born in Dallas, Tx but is an East Texan through and through. She graduated from Rains High School went on to earn her BFA in Design Communication in 2015 and has recently began working towards her Master’s in Business Marketing. She recently moved to the Miller Grove area to lay down roots with her fiancé, son, and their pack of animals. With 12 years working in the design and marketing industry, Kat has worn many hats. This has helped her to experience first-hand the importance of branding, marketing, and having a great website to a business’ success. Her true passion is helping startups and small businesses turn their dreams into a reality. This energy and vision encouraged Kat to start her own business, De La Grove Agency, a boutique creative agency that offers branding, web design and marketing services. When she’s not working, you’ll most likely find her doing home renovations, road tripping somewhere, hunting for vintage finds or binge watching a new show.
