Sulphur Springs ‘Destination Imagination’ advances at Mesquite 2023

The Sulphur Springs Middle School competed in their first Destination Imagination (DI) competition on Saturday at Mesquite Poteet High School.The Middle School took four teams to compete and came home with two first place and two fourth place finishes. 
 
The Engineering team took 4th Place in their completion “Thrill Ride.”  The engineering team also won the high Instant Challenge (IC). They also received the Spirit of DI Award. The Spirit of DI is awarded for maintaining a positive and problem solving attitude or just doing something especially positive.The first, first place award was won in the “Flip the script” Fine Arts challenge. The Fine Arts team also won the Renaissance award.  The Renaissance award is for something especially innovative or creative. Since they placed first they advanced to state.The next first place award went to the  “Far Fetched” Scientific challenge.  The Scientific team advanced to State and also won High IC.The last team in the “Piece by Piece” Technical challenge came away with a fourth place win as well.   Overall the Sulphur Springs Middle School DI teams did well and represented the district in fine form.
