The 2022 Hopkins County Fall Festival Presented by City National bank, now in its 53rd year, is back and better than ever! Check out the listing of events for maximum fall fun.

🍁 October: Hay Bale Contestants displayed all over town during the month of October
🍁 October 15: Fall Festival Parade. Line up at 9 a.m., parade starts at 10 a.m. Parade travels from Buford Park to Brookshires Grocery Store
🍁 October 17-23: Triple T Amusements Carnival at Hopkins County Civic Center
🍁 October 21-22: Creative Arts Contest in the SSHS Conference Room, 1-5 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m.-1:45
p.m. Saturday
🍁 October 21- 22: Exhibition and vendor booths at the Fall Festival, inside Hopkins County Civic Center, 10 a.m.- 4 p.m. on Friday and 9 a.m.-4 p.m. on Saturday
🍁 October 21- 22: Kids’ Zone petting zoo, barrel train rides and horse rides at the Civic Center Grounds, 10 a.m.- 4 p.m. on Friday and 9 a.m.-4 p.m. on Saturday
🍁 October 21- 22: Arts & Crafts Show, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the SSHS Cafeteria

October 15- Hay bales must be constructed on or before this day. Individuals, businesses, church groups etc. welcome to participate, read more here

October 15- Fall festival parade at 10 a.m. The parade will start at Buford Park and go down Connally Street to the square where it will turn onto Gilmer St. The parade will go along Gilmer St. and will end at Brookshires Grocery Store.

Local first responders, civic groups, businesses and churches will participate in the parade to kick off the Annual Hopkins County Fall Festival events. October 17- Carnival begins! The carnival will be open from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Wednesday. Triple T Amusements’ carnival has exciting rides for all ages, games, fair food and more. Tickets will also be available at the gate for $25. Get your tickets and enjoy a night of fun with the family! The carnival runs through Oct. 23 and is sponsored by City National Bank. Rides and amusements include:

  • Fun slide
  • Flying elephant ride
  • Sharpshooter game 
  • Pendulum Ship
  • Hurricane ride
  • The Viper Coaster
  • Bumper cars
  • Carousel
  • Ferris wheel
  • Puppy roll kids coaster
  • Candy apples, cotton candy
  • More games & prizes 

October 21

  • Carnival is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

October 22Festival begins! Activities include:

  • Kids Zone- 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. free petting zoo, free horse rides, and free barrel train rides on the Civic Center grounds.
  • Kids Zone Petting Zoo- 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. with barnyard animals, sponsored by Signature Solar
  • Kids Zone Horse and Barrel Train Rides – 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. sponsored by Signature Solar
  • Arts & Crafts show- 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. 
  • Carnival- 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. 
  • Hay bale judging will take place and winners will be announced at 2 p.m. at the Civic Center gazebo

October 22Festival continues! Activities include:

  • Stew Festival- Cooks are judged at 10:30 a.m., stew is served at 10:45 a.m.
  • Kids Zone- 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. free petting zoo, free horse rides, and free barrel train rides on the Civic Center grounds.
  • Kids Zone Petting Zoo- 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. with barnyard animals, sponsored by Signature Solar
  • Kids Zone Horse and Barrel Train Rides – 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. sponsored by Signature Solar
  • Arts & Crafts show- 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with prizes awarded on Saturday
  • Carnival- 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

October 23– Last day of the carnival! 3 p.m. to 9 p.m.

How to enter the Arts & Crafts Show: You do not have to be from Hopkins County to have a space. As a matter of fact, there are even have crafters from other states who bring their wares! For guidelines and a copy of the application, please contact the Hopkins County Extension Office at 903-885-3443, or drop by 1200 W. Houston Street in Sulphur Springs.
