The Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office has taken in two individuals after an alleged murder that was discovered Tuesday.
On Monday evening, HCSO stated they received a report of belongings scattered on a county road north of Sulphur Springs.
At the time of their arrival, deputies located an abandoned vehicle they later determined to be from the Dallas-Fort Worth area, they stated.
A further search of the area located Giovanni Alexis Najarro, 35, of Dallas, who was deceased.
HCSO believed Najarro was “associated with the vehicle and a victim of homicide,” HCSO stated on Tuesday.
By Wednesday, HCSO took two into custody for questioning in Najarro’s death.
Diamonye Jakeli Payne, 28, of Fort Worth, and Aleigha Denise Coble, 21, of Colbert, OK, were both taken into custody in St. Louis, MO.
“Although the investigation is ongoing we do not believe anyone else is involved,” HCSO stated. “Sheriff Lewis Tatum would like to commend all the officers involved for a job well done.”
