Funeral service for Julia Kay Flanagan, age 76, of Sulphur Springs will be held at Trinity Harvest Church of God on Sunday, November 7, 2021 at 2 PM with Rev. Jason Connor and Rev. Doug Holt officiating. Interment will follow at City Cemetery with Cody Morgan, Phoenix Capobianco, Blake Weir, Jonathan Orvis, Jim Gard, and Justin Jumper serving as pallbearers. There will be a visitation on Saturday, November 6, 2021 from   6-8 pm at Murray-Orwosky funeral home. Kay passed away on Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at Christus Mother Francis Hospital, Sulphur Springs.

Kay was born to William “Billy” and Mary Watson on June 10, 1945 in Sulphur Springs. She retired from SSISD and was a secretary and faithful member of Trinity Harvest Church of God. Kay was also a member of the North East Texas Choral Society, Psalms 100 and Trinity Harvest Prime Timer’s.

Kay is survived by her daughters, Lisa Ray and husband, Noah, and Donita Morgan and husband, David both of Sulphur Springs; son, John Flanagan and wife, Jennifer of Arizona; grandchildren, Katie McCarley, Haley Morgan and Jonathan, Kayla Weir and Blake, Cody Morgan and Katelyn, and Tori Flanagan; great grandchildren, Layla McCarley, Phoenix Capobianco, Emmy Overly, Parker Weir, Freya McGraw, Morgan Jane Weir, Ellie Morgan and Logan Orvis; and one sister, Lillian Kirkpatrick.

Kay was preceded in death by her parents, William and Mary Watson; grandson, TJ Freeman; brother, Julius Watson; sisters, Nora Wells, Dorothy Scoggins, Billie Mae Shannon, and Mary Jewell Watson and the love her life, John D. Flannagan.
