Many in Hopkins are used to Lake Country Court-Appointed Special Advocate’s (CASA) annual cookie sale. However, this year CASA is doing something a little more magical.
In place of their annual cookie sale, Lake Country CASA will be holding a Christmas Tree Raffle this year, where participants can enter for a chance to win one of twelve available small, decorated Christmas trees. They’re calling it ‘Miracles Made on Connally Street’ after where the group has their headquarters.
“Lake Country CASA is an organization of dedicated volunteers, committed to supporting children who have been removed from their homes because of neglect or abuse,” Lake Country CASA’s Peggy Walker said. “These volunteers are passionately committed to making a difference for children who might otherwise slip through the cracks.”
“[We] urge you to be mindful of children who are spending the holidays away from those they love, and consider how you can make a difference,” member Sarah Goggans said.
Raffle tickets are $25, according to Goggans, with each ticket giving one chance to win one of the small trees.
The raffle will be held Dec. 8 starting at 10 a.m.
“Thank you for your continued support of Lake Country CASA and the work we do for the children in our community,” Goggans said.
