Hopkins County is under a heat advisory until Tuesday at 8 p.m., according to the National Weather Service.

Tuesday is sunny, with a high near 97. Heat index values could reach as high as 103. Tuesday night is clear, with a low around 77. 

Wednesday is sunny, with a high near 97. Heat index values could reach as high as 104. Wednesday night is clear, with a low around 76. 

Thursday is sunny, with a high near 96. Thursday night is clear, with a low around 76. 

Hot temperatures and high humidity will increase the risk for heat-related illnesses to occur, particularly for those working or participating in outdoor activities. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Young children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles under any circumstances.

Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an emergency! Call 911 if you believe you are suffering from heat stroke.
