Accidents can happen in an instant, and being prepared can be the difference between life and death. That’s why we observe National Farm Safety and Health Week.

Agriculture is recognized as one of the most hazardous jobs in America, and numerous fatalities occur every year.

But farmers and ranchers, along with landowners and farm employees, know farm safety is of the utmost importance.

That means being safe and aware on roadways. Farm equipment is large, wide and slow. Being alert and cautious could be the difference between life and death.

The week is also about operating that farm equipment carefully and knowing the limits of implements.

Health—both physical and mental—is just as important. And keeping our youth safe and staying aware of confined spaces—like grain bins—are key to farm safety.

Because one accident, one day, one moment could be life changing and life threatening.
