Intersection of Highway 19 North and FM 71 W in Birthright to Become a 4-Way Stop on September 17th

Drivers may have recently noticed the signs on Highway 19 N announcing “Traffic Pattern Changes 9-17-2018”.  Texas Department of Transportation employees were at the intersection of Highway 19 North and FM 71 W in Birthright yesterday doing preparation work for the intersection to become a 4-way stop. The change will begin on September 17th. 

This is another change TxDOT is making to reduce accidents on the highway due to the work of the Concerned Citizens of Highway 19 N. The group has previously succeeded in getting speed limits reduced to 65 mph on the highway and 55 mph in the area of the 19N and 71W intersection.
