1 Samuel 22:2
And everyone who was in distress, and everyone who was in debt, and everyone who was bitter in soul, gathered to him. And he became commander over them. And there were with him about four hundred men.

1 Chronicles 12:1-2
1 Now these are the men who came to David at Ziklag, while he could not move about freely because of Saul the son of Kish. And they were among the mighty men who helped him in war. 2 They were bowmen and could shoot arrows and sling stones with either the right or the left hand; they were Benjaminites, Saul’s kinsmen.

When you begin to operate in the anointing upon your life, others will begin to take notice and draw from that gift. The delusion that most fall into is the idea that those who draw near to you will be the solid, grounded, healthy, and ‘have it all together’ people. When, in actuality, it will be those who are in all likelihood broke, busted and disgusted. Think about it for a moment. Why would those who seemingly have everything going their way want your help in the first place? This is where you, as a true disciple with Kingdom advancement in mind, have to refuse to discriminate against those who may not look, smell, act, or think like you do. Today’s text says that David drew a crowd of distressed, bitter, and broke people. He had the option of turning them away because they had nothing to offer him or he could receive them and allow the gifting and anointing of God in His life to change their’s…which is exactly what he did. This same group of people became the famed ‘Mighty Warriors’ that conquered Canaan alongside David when he became king. Who has gathered around you? Are you willing to receive and minister to them using the anointing that the Lord has placed in your life? Will you let who He has made you to be bring unity in a world that needs it so badly? – Love and Blessings, Pastor Jeff
