Eva V Gasaway Obituary

Funeral Service for Mother Eva Vernell Person Gasaway, age 90, of Sulphur Springs, will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at Mitchell Chapel Church of God in Christ with Bishop Nelson Gatlin officiating. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery with Samuel Gasaway II, Tristan Wright, Tarron Wright, Devious Cherry, Jerome Givens and Scottie Nelson as pallbearers.  Charles Perry, Fitzgerald Nelson, T. Lee Moore, Bill Barrett, Jarrod Jackson and Jackie Young as honorary pallbearers   Visitation will be from 6-8 P.M. on Friday, February 3, 2017 at Murray Orwosky Funeral Home.

Mrs. Gasaway passed away Monday, January 30, 2017, at Legend Healthcare and Rehabilitation – Greenville.  She was born on December 3, 1926 in Sulphur Springs to Rev. Laz and Cassie (Perry) Person.  She married Sammie Lee Gasaway in Sulphur Springs on August 2, 1942.  She retired as supervisor for Cannon Craft Shutters.  Eva was a faithful member of Mitchell Chapel Church of God in Christ.

 

She is survived by her son, Samuel Dwight Gasaway and wife Pamela of Fate, TX; daughter, Rebekah Ausbie and husband Chris of Mesquite, TX; grandchildren, Jerome Givens, Britianny Anderson, Samuel Gasaway II, Tristan Wright, Tarron Wright, Devious Cherry and Iriyuana Wilkerson; great grandchildren, XyKorian, Destiny, XyLon, Brooklyn, JoXyria, Joseph, Kaden and Ashton; Goddaughters, Jackie Jackson, Celelia Craddock and Reva Wright.

Eva was preceded in death by her husband, Sammie; brothers, Dutch, Roy and Jack Person; sisters, Blanche and Rebekah Person, Sally Hill, Mary Taylor and Velma Barber.

Arrangements are under the direction of Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
