One Suspect Injured in Officer-Involved Shooting in Hopkins County. Suspect Reportedly in Stable Condition.

One suspect was injured last night in a shooting involving area law enforcement last night.

Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office deputies and DPS responded to a report of assault-family violence in the Reilly Springs area. The suspect fled the residence after officers arrived. 

Officers returned to the residence after a short search and discovered the suspect had returned. The suspect brandished a weapon towards the officers and was shot by officers after refusing to put down the weapon.

Emergency medical services were performed by officers until EMS arrived. The injured suspect was placed on a critical care helicopter and transferred to a Dallas area hospital. The suspect is currently reported to be in stable condition.
