Obituary for Kay Annette Penn

Obituary for Kay Annette Penn
  • PublishedDecember 14, 2023

In 2nd Corinthians 5:8, the Bible tells us that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. Kay Annette

Penn passed from this life on December 11, 2023. She was born July 24, 1947 in Perryton, TX to Dale and Annabelle

Kerns. She graduated from Perryton High School in 1965 and then went to work for the Texas Rehabilitation in

Amarillo, TX. In 1969 Kay met the love of her life, David, and they married on November 14, 1969, enjoying 54 years

of a wonderful, full life together. She retired from the Hopkins County Clerk’s office in 2017. She was a member of

Peerless Baptist Church.

Kay had a quiet spirit and loved her Savior, Jesus Christ. To know Kay was to love her. She was loved and will be missed

by her family and friends. She loved her family and friends immensely and we knew that she loved us.

Kay was preceded in death by her parents, Dale and Annabelle Kerns and her aunts.

She is survived by her husband, David, of Sulphur Springs; son, John Penn of Arlington, TX; daughter, Laurie Kerby

and husband, Marlin, of Sulphur Springs; brother, Larry Kerns and wife, Pat, of Sulphur Springs; and her two greatest

joys and blessings that we are pretty sure she liked more than everybody, Cade Kerby and Deanna Kerby of Sulphur

Springs.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at Peerless Baptist Church with Bro.

David Burns and Bro. Doyle Hayes officiating. There will be a visitation one hour before the service in the Fellowship

Hall.

Arrangements are under the direction of Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
