SSHS Advances 6 Students to Pre Area
Six SSHS choir members made the TMEA Region 4 All Region choir and advanced to Pre Area on Saturday, September 23. Mars Patterson earned the highest scores in their section and received first chair in the alto section.
Celeste McCoy and Mika Boren earned 4th and 6th chairs, respectively, in the soprano section while Alan Guzman, Daniel Gardner, and Ben Lovelady earned 6th, 7th, and 8th chairs in the bass section. This was the first of 3 auditions to making the All State choir. Their next step to All State is Pre Area auditions in Mount Pleasant. They will need to place in the top 8 chairs to qualify for Area auditions in January.
Last year Lausen Ost completed the entire journey to TMEA All State earning 5th chair in the area and performing in San Antonio at the Texas Music Educators Association convention in February.
