Hopkins County Chamber of commerce sports local business merch on casual Fridays

At the Hopkins County Chamber of Commerce, President Butch Burney and crew wear many hats— literally! After the annual Chamber golf tournament, the Chamber was gifted hats from various local businesses. This has inspired a new social media trend, with local businesses bringing in their branded hats for the Chamber team to wear and show off their support for Hopkins County companies.

The chamber has now become walking billboards for our Northeast Texas economy. This not only helps to raise awareness of these businesses, but also encourages others to get involved and support buying local.

“Each Friday we are highlighting a different business on our social media pages and website through branded merchandise,” said Chamber marketing coordinator Amanda Tredway. “We also may be stopping by your business for a visit or spotlight you on Facebook or Instagram.”

The idea of branded merchandise is not new; many local businesses use them as a way to promote their brand and create a sense of unity among their employees. However, the idea of the Chamber team wearing these hats is a unique way to show support for the local community.

“We really wanted to embrace the spirit of community, champion entrepreneurs and show our support for local business,” Tredway added.

Just a quick glimpse of Burney and the team sporting a local business’s brand during their casual dress Fridays is a powerful symbol of the Chamber’s commitment to promoting area businesses and encouraging economic growth in Hopkins County.

Burney would like to remind the community “If you’re going to spend money, do it locally where the effects are felt more profoundly, helping your community flourish.”

The Chamber accepts any opportunity to show they share the goal of supporting and promoting a thriving business community. More about the chamber: https://www.hopkinschamber.org/
