North Hopkins Military Homecoming Surprise
  • PublishedMay 5, 2023

First Class Petty Officer Phillip Barnes recently surprised his daughter, Audrey Barnes, at North Hopkins ISD after returning from a nine-month deployment on the USS George H. W. Bush. This was Phillip’s fifth deployment, and during his time away, he visited Greece, Italy, Croatia, and France.

Phillip, an Aviation Structural Mechanic (AM1) for the Navy, exclusively works on helicopters and has done so for the past 15 years. He holds an E6 ranking, the First Class Petty Officer (AM1) in the Navy. His wife, Kasi Barnes, was also in attendance at the heartwarming reunion.

Audrey, a fifth-grader at North Hopkins ISD, was delighted to see her dad back home and in person again. Front Porch News is honored to share this touching moment with you and wish the Barnes family all the best as they reunite after their time apart.
