Funeral service for Lisa Smith, age 60 of Sulphur Springs, Texas will be held at 2:00P.M. on Sunday, September 11, 2022 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home with Judge Robert Newsom officiating. Interment will follow at Sulphur Springs City Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Ms. Smith went to be with her Heavenly Father with her mother, sister and brother by her side on September 7, 2022 at Hospice of East Texas.

Lisa was born on November 12, 1961 in Houston, Texas to Tillman Joe and Peggy (Jenkins) Smith. In 1980 she was diagnosed with Transverse Myelitis when she was a senior in high school. Lisa then became paralyzed from the chest down after she was diagnosed. She was then later diagnosed with breast cancer. Even with the difficulties she faced, it never stopped her from enjoying all the things she loved to do. That included family vacations and missionary trips to Florida in her earlier years. Lisa still was able to drive herself around and take care of herself. She earned her bachelor’s degree from East Texas State University. Lisa worked as an Administrative assistant for a car dealership for over 35 years. She was baptized when she was a young girl and had a strong Christian faith. Lisa was a member of the New Beginnings Fellowship Church. She was loved by all her nieces, nephews, family and friends.

She is survived by her mother, Peggy; brothers, Kenneth Smith, Ronald Dale Smith and wife, Sharon of Sulphur Springs; sisters, Vickie Morgan, Rhonda Kay Neal and husband, Randy of Forney.

Lisa was preceded in death by her father, Tillman Joe; grandparents, Janice Elizabeth Richey, Allen Thomas Jenkins, Charles Tarrant, Jr and Leora Thornsberry Smith; brother, Eddie Joe Smith.
