August is finally here, which means the return of high school sports. Just four weeks away from their season opener, the Sulphur Springs Wildcats kicked things off with their first official practice of the season Monday./

The Wildcats entered the practice with a ton of momentum, as new head coach Brandon Faircloth said his team had a great summer. “Our players have definitely answered the bell and answered the call on that,” coach Faircloth said about his team working hard this summer. “They showed up and worked hard and have been focused.”

“You shouldn’t expect to win unless you’re outworking your opponents,” Faircloth added. “That’s just part of it. We’ve tried to find ways to get better this summer and our kids have done that and I’m excited to watch them play.”
