SSHS principal Driver accepts position at Celina

Celina ISD announced the hiring of Mr. Derek Driver as their high school principal beginning in the 2022-2023 school year.
Driver, the current principal of Sulphur Springs High School, has over 30 years in education and has been the High School principal at Sulphur Springs since 2015.
“Mr. Driver’s experience developing relationships with students and families is truly in tune with what our kids and our schools need right now to move forward in this unique time,” Celina Superintendent Tom Maglisceau noted in a press release.
“He is adept at creating the system necessary to carry out this work.”
CISD reported they reviewed 76 applications to the position before selecting Driver. They praised Driver for his “high visibility” within the SSISD school system.
Driver will remain with SSHS to finish out the school term, CISD stated. CISD’s previous high school principal will move into an administrative role.
