Philip Lockwood, age 78, of Sulphur Springs, passed away on Monday, April 4, 2022, at Christus Mother Frances Hospital, Sulphur Springs. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Philip Arthur was born on December 3, 1943, in Indianapolis, IN to Herbert and Irene (Frazier) Lockwood. He married Mary Marlene Cantrell in Frankfurt, Germany on January 27, 1964. Philip served in the US Army during Vietnam. He was a Mechanic by trade. Philip was a life member of VFW #8560 and served as District Chaplin for a term. He was an accomplished gospel singer and a member of the Rockdale Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Marlene; children, Lyrae Reece of Sulphur Springs, Bill Lockwood of San Antonio, Dani Moore of Texarkana, Joshua Lockwood and wife Crystol of Sulphur Springs; grandchildren, Chris Cota and wife, Yuki, Keely Chester, Jessica Wright, Blake Moore, Tyler Daehn, Michael Arrington, Shane Woodfin; greatgrandchildren, Bently, Aston, Stetson, Shaelyn, Maverick, Kooper, Allison; brother, Bob Lockwood and wife, Ruth; nices, Kelly, Carie, Melissa, Karin, Tina; nephew, Jonathan.

Philip was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Charles, Hodges.
