Funeral service for Ray Kirkpatrick, age 87 of Sulphur Springs, TX will be held at 2:00P.M. on Wednesday, March 30, 2022 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home with Rev. Danny Ballard and Rev. L.D. Baxley. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park with Jonathon Keller, Daniel Weatheread, Travis Baxley, Austin Baxley, Delane Baxley, Lane Keller, Chris Currier and Brody Weatheread serving as pallbearers. Jordan Perry, Jack Potts, Jaxton Currier, Halston Potts and Blayke Pegues serving as honorary pallbearers. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00P.M. on Tuesday, March 29, 2022 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home. Mr. Kirkpatrick passed away on March 27, 2022 at Christus Mother Frances – Sulphur Springs.

Ray was born on June 21, 1934 in Sulphur Springs, TX to John Presley “Sid” and Henrietta (Hill) Kirkpatrick. He married Perry Nell Woodward on April 27, 1953 in San Antonio, TX. Ray worked as a dairy farmer, truck driver and retired from Grocery Supply. He never quit working though, he worked for Dr. Black until he couldn’t anymore. Ray was known for being a storyteller. He was a member of the House of Prayer.

He is survived by his son, Benny Ray Kirkpatrick and wife, Jean; daughters, Jan Ballard and husband, Danny, Kim Keller and husband, Rodney, Sherry Baxley and husband, L.D., Carolyn Walker and husband, Rob; grandchildren, Matthew Kirkpatrick, Cari Kirkpatrick, Kimberly Perry, Daniel Weatheread, Jennifer Keller, Jonathon Keller, Carla Currier, Travis Baxley, Pamela Potts, Austin Baxley, Dana Baxley, Angela Pegues, Delane Baxley, Madysen Walker and Lili Walker; twelve great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; brother, Bert Kirkpatrick and sisters, Vannoy Gentles, Sydney Anderson and Ann Oliver.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Nell; son, John Kirkpatrick and daughter-in-law, Judy Brown Kirkpatrick; great grandson, James Steven Keller; brothers, J.P. Kirkpatrick and James Kirkpatrick; sisters, Sybil Jones and Rowena Butcher.
