Lady Cats fall in close home match

The first half of the Lady Cats game saw a scoreless half. The Lady Cats and Lady Tigers fought hard against each other to possess the ball. Sulphur Springs had multiple shots on goal while Mount Pleasant only had two. The Lady Cats continued to drive the ball towards the goal line with speed and passing.
The defense has done an amazing job of keeping the Lady Tigers away from the goal. The center defenders, Kylie Clarke and Emily Soto, earned their time on the field tonight, defending the goal and keeping the offense away from scoring opportunities. Outside back helped by running down the ball and players on both sides.

The midfield players worked hard to defend and distribute the ball. While the score ended up being 0-0 at the end of the half the Lady Cats worked hard to keep it scoreless, while also attempting to maximize their scoring chances.
The second half got underway and both teams battled for possession of the ball. Quickly the game degraded as the refs began to lose control of the field. The Lady Tigers scored with 18 minutes remaining in the game. The Lady Cats left the back side open, creating a perfect score by opportunity for Mount Pleasant with an unguarded player. The pass was made and the ball went in with the keeper defending the opposite side of the goal.
Not a team to give up, the Lady Cats kept playing and driving the ball towards the goal box. Many of their shots were sent directly to the keeper, never catching the back of the net. Sulphur Springs was unsuccessful in making a goal but fought hard till the end of the game. The score did not accurately reflect the level of play from Sulphur Springs, they passed well and connected the ball to the feet of players who could make the difference.
