The Cumby city council met for approximately six minutes on the evening of January 18, and approved a revised mitigation action plan.

The council convened at 6:03 p.m. and after an invocation by Mayor Doug Simmerman, the floor was opened to citizen comments.

No citizens presented themselves for comment.

No council members provided resolutions or proclamations.

The purpose of the Tuesday special session, according to Simmerman, was to verify the county-compiled hazardous mitigation plan.

Simmerman noted the urgency of the meeting was due to Hopkins County’s intention to apply for a grant before the city of Cumby would hold its next regularly-scheduled meeting.

The council unanimously advised the county hazardous mitigation plan so Hopkins can proceed with their grant application. With no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 6:09 p.m.
