The annual John Chester Dutch Oven cookoff will take place Saturday, Oct. 2, 2021 beginning at 9 a.m. in Sulphur Springs’ Heritage Park, located at 416 N. Jackson Street.

The cookoff is part of Indian Summer Days, and will last until 2 p.m.

The event, hosted by the Hopkins County Historical Society, is free, although general admission to the park is $3.

Dutch oven bakes will be served at 11:30 a.m., and are $5 for an all-you-can-eat plate.

Participants in the cookoff and Indian Summer days dress in pioneer clothing and demonstrate traditional skills. All proceeds go to the upkeep of Heritage Park.
