Cumby VFD 9/11 memorial walk 2021

The Cumby Volunteer Fire Department and their citizen supporters made the walk at 7:46 a.m. this morning from the Youth Sports field to the fire station, 3.43 miles, to honor the 343 lives lost on the morning of Sept. 11, 2001.
“It’s a day for solemn reflection, and it’s up to every individual to remember in a way that’s meaningful to them,” said organizer Ryan Horne. Last year Horne (front left) and Jimmy Helfferich (front right) walked alone, but this year expanded it to all.
