Funeral services for Wendy Ruth Childs, age 47, of Dike will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 4, 2021 at West Oaks Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Donnie Powers officiating. Interment will follow at Sulphur Bluff Cemetery with Jason Childs, Gene Childs, Clayton Fite, Bryan Schutz, Cole Swanner, and Evin Darlin serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m., prior to service time. Wendy passed away on Monday, May 31, 2021 at the Methodist Medical Center in Dallas. She was born on August 22, 1973 in Marshall, the daughter of Tommy and Shirley Waskom Childs. She was a full-time awesome mom and also worked as a registered nurse for many years. Wendy is survived by husband, Marty Fite, parents, Tommy and Shirley Childs, and brother, Gene Childs. She was preceded in death by son, Blake Klemptner and brother, Willard B. Childs. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Heart of Life Animal Shelter or a charity of your choice.
