Graveside services for Dorothy Tucker, age 94, of Sulphur Springs, will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, May 16, 2021 at Mt Zion Cemetery with Bro. Jim Moore officiating. Brady Hunt, Jeremy Johns, Hagen Hunt, Lane Hunt, Andrew Patton, and Tanner Johns will serve as pallbearers. There will be no formal visitation. Dorothy passed away on Thursday, May 13, 2021 at Carriage House Manor. She was born on January 1, 1927 in the Shady Grove Community to Otha Lee and Mattie Irene Akers Johnson. Dorothy was a graduate of Greenville High School. She taught Sunday school at Park Street Baptist Church in Greenville and later became a member of Mt Zion Baptist Church. She married Cullen Tucker on February 9, 1946 in Commerce, TX. He preceded her in death in 2019. Dorothy loved her family as well as traveling. She had visited all 48 lower states. She is survived by daughters, Betty Hunt and husband Daniel of Cumby, Shirley Hayes of Howe, sister, Helen Williams of Bonham, grandchildren, Robert Johns, Brandy Patton, Brady Hunt, Jeremy Johns, and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 75 years, Cullen Tucker, and one brother, Charles Johnson. In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to your favorite charity.
