Frank D. Wilbur, 85, of Canton went home to be our Lord on Friday, January 1, 2021, after a short battle with COVID-19.

He was born on March 10, 1935 in Panama. He lived in the San Bias Islands until he moved to the United States at the age of nine. He graduated from Bacone College in Muskogee, OK and went on to work as a welder for Gardner Denver. He later retired from the city of Sulphur Springs. He was preceded in death by his wife of 37 years, Mary Mackey Wilbur, grandson, Jack Mackey, and grandson-in-law, Randy Wilmon.

Frank loved working in the garden and the rest of us enjoyed the fruits of his labor (and green thumb). There wasn’t a vegetable he could not grow. He had many other interests too including 2000+ piece puzzles, rooting for his Dallas Cowboys, and dancing with his love, Brenda. Most of all, he loved the Lord and spending time with his family. We already miss his contagious smile, generosity, and attitude towards life.

Survivors include his special love, Brenda Harden of Tyler, daughter, Jackie Robinson-Haynes (Mike), granddaughter, Michelle Wilmon, grandsons, Rickey Robinson (Karen), Ronnie Mackey (Angie), and Robert Mackey, great-grandchildren, Melody, Cody, and Amy Mackey, Garrett Wilmon (Hayleigh), Nolan Wilmon (Missy), Jake Robinson, McGwire Martin, Maverick Mackey, and great-great grandchildren, Wyatt, Hayes, and LailaWilmon.

A graveside service will be held on Sunday, January 24, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. at Restlawn Memorial Park in Sulphur Springs.

In lieu of flowers, you may make a donation to Bacone College through their website at www.bacone.edu/give or plant a tree in memory of Frank Wilbur.

Arrangements are under the direction of Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
