Robert, Yvonne, and Wesley Weir drove to Plano Saturday for Lucas Connley’s 8th birthday. Yvonne reported that they got to see their grandchildren Nicolaas and Everly at the party, too. Prior to the event, they went to the Brickstreet Vintage Market on the square.
On Sunday, Yvonne attended the shower for Trenton Dodd and Melany Huffman at the community center for a little while, before getting a call from work. She comments, “It was a lovely shower.”
Congratulations are in order for Weldon and Vera Mae Glossup. They will be honored with a reception in honor of their 75th wedding anniversary on Saturday, October 5th, from 2-4 at the Posey Baptist Church Fellowship Hall.
Joyce Dodd reports that the next Bible study at the Tira Methodist Church will be on Tuesday, October 1st. Everyone is welcome.
The annual North Hopkins School Alumni Homecoming is scheduled for 5:30 p.m., Saturday, October 12, 2019, in the North Hopkins School Cafeteria. The Classes of 1969, 1979, and 1989 will be honored for their 50-, 40-, and 30-year reunion. The event will begin with a tour of the facilities, to see the changes that have been made to enhance the education of the students. A catered dinner, by BirthWright BBQ, will be served at 6:00 p.m., at a cost of $12.50 per plate. A program and dance will follow the meal. All former students and staff are encouraged to attend. Please help us spread the word.
