Funeral services for Luvenia “Lou” Finnie, age 74, of Sulphur Springs, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 16, 2019 at St. Luke Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Coffey Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, February 15, 2019 at West Oaks Funeral Home. Lou passed away on Tuesday, February 12, 2019. She was born on April 9, 1944 to the late Clarence and Lillie Alley Wright. She retired from SSISD food services in 2003 after 21 years. She married Joe Finnie on January 15, 1977 in Hugo, OK. He preceded her in death January 31, 2015. She was a member of St. Luke Baptist Church. She is survived by daughter, JoAnn Guilford (Milton) of Fate, step-son, Joseph Finnie of North Carolina, grandchildren, Chase and Cody Guilford, brothers, Weldon Wright, Melvin Wright (Ann) both of Sulphur Springs, sisters, Rose Finnie, Darlene Kendricks (M.L.), Bobby Roland (Wilbert) all of Sulphur Springs, and Doris Montgomery of Mt. Pleasant, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Harvey Wright, A.J. Petty, Lester Wright, Walter Wright, Lee Arthur Wright, and sisters, Ester Berry and Lilly Williams.
