8 And when he comes, he will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment: 9 concerning sin, because they do not believe in me; 10 concerning righteousness, because I go to the Father, and you will see me no longer; 11 concerning judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged.
Does your life convince others that Jesus is alive and well? For most Christians, a less than convincing lifestyle leads to their trying to convict people rather than convince them. Conviction is the Holy Spirit’s job, not yours. The reason why the church world wide is struggling with reaching the lost is because it has tried to do the Holy Spirit’s job and not the job it was designed to. God created the church to show His love and compassion to a lost and dying world, not to inform them that they’re lives are evil and that hell is waiting right around the corner if they don’t straiten up. Approaching someone with love and mercy will in and of itself open the door for the Holy Spirit to move in their life. A convincing Christian is not a convicting Christian, a convincing Christian is a loving Christian. – Love and Blessings, Pastor Jeff
