The city of San Antonio released details about the $450 million facelift of the Alamo. They’re proposing to close streets, tear down four buildings and move a 60-foot monument to triple the size of the historic plaza in downtown San Antonio.
They also proposed to lower the ground to the level at the time of the Battle of the Alamo. The proposal to move the monument has drawn criticism from preservationists.
Public hearings will be held later this month.
