The Tyler Lone Star Softball Umpires Chapter of TASO held its annual scholarship awards ceremony on Sunday afternoon April 29th at the Tyler Rose Gardens Center in Tyler, Texas. The scholarship recipients, their families and coaches were invited to the ceremony that included light refreshments and scholarship awards recognition. Thirteen young ladies from all over East Texas were selected to receive scholarships. Among those selected was Senior Catcher, Bailey Busby from Cumby High School. This is the 22nd year that the Tyler Lone Star Softball Umpires have given out scholarships to deserving young ladies. Cumby’s Busby and the other twelve recipients will each be receiving $500 towards furthering their educations. The Tyler Lone Star Softball Umpires Chapter has been able to fund scholarships for 22 years from the proceeds of their annual Lone Star Fast Pitch Blowout tournament.
