Talk about bad timing for a major shortage. There is a serious nationwide shortage of natural Christmas trees. According to news reports, this is due to production problems in major tree states like Oregon and the Carolinas.
The good news is, so far, Texas has been able to supply natural tree needs in the Lone Star State. It’s kind of a new wrinkle in the local agriculture movement. You can buy a tree grown locally in many Texas locations.
The traditional Christmas tree might not be the first thing that comes up in an agricultural discussion, but Texas farmers have leaped at the opportunity to grow them.
You can select your own and even cut it at many Texas Christmas tree farms. The Texas Department of Agriculture keeps a list online at gotexan.org.
