Bealls Department Store in Sulphur Springs has announced that they will be closing. They have begun their liquidation sale. Discounts on merchandise are currently between 20%-40% off. We were told by a store employee that there isn’t a firm date set for closing the store and that it depends on how quickly they can liquidate the merchandise.
When the liquidation sale is over, the store will be closed for 10 days and will reopen as a Gordmans Department Store. Stage Stores, the company that owns Bealls, bought Gordmans in 2017. According to reports, Stage plans for the new direction for the Gordmans Brand to be in the thriving, off-price retail sector and more resemble stores like T.J. Maxx, Ross, and Burlington.
