Como-Pickton JH vs Harts Bluff JH

The Como-Pickton Eagles JH Boys Basketball teams hosted Harts Bluff JH for three games. The night ended with a tie, a loss, and a win for the Eagles.

The B “Team game ended in a 16-16 tie. The game saw the lead change several times throughout the game and ended with the Eagles sinking 2 free-throws with 2 seconds left in the game to tie the game at 16.

The 7th graders have struggled this year with sealing the “W”. Thursday was no different. The young Eagles have worked very hard, coming in to practice early to work on fundamentals. Although the Eagles lost to Harts Bluff they have shown improvement of their overall skill and knowledge of the game. The Eagles led early but could not overcome a big second quarter by Harts Bluff, losing by the score of 16-21.

The 8the Grade game saw the Eagles dominate from the very beginning, never trailing in the game. The Eagles Defense swarmed to the ball forcing many turnovers that resulted in baskets at the other end of the floor. The Eagles came away with a convincing 58-22 win.

The Eagles 7A and 8A Teams will finish their season next Thursday, February 9 at home against Cooper. 7A Team will begin at 5PM followed by the 8A Team at around 5:45. The Eagles B Team finished their season at 1-8-1. They will not play next week since Cooper does not have a B Team.
