1 Corinthians 14:20
Brothers, do not be children in your thinking. Be infants in evil, but in your thinking be mature.

Most people who consider themselves to be mature believers do so based upon the the fact that they have born again for a considerable length of time. However, maturity is not determined by age but by how someone responds to situations that don’t go their way. Just like when a toddler throws a fit or has a temper tantrum when they’re told ‘No’, many believers tend to act the same way when life doesn’t give them what they want. They say that God isn’t fair, or He’s mean, that He just doesn’t understand or likes someone else better than them. While none of those assumptions are Biblical, many ‘mature’ Christians show their true colors when they don’t feel like God has given them what they want. A mature person, when they’re told ‘No’, takes the answer for what it is and moves on. What you must understand is that when God says ‘No’, He doing so out of as much love as if He had said ‘Yes’. You must never forget that He is perfect love, it is never His intention to punish or deprive. When He doesn’t give you something that you ask for it’s from the same heart of love that sends unexpected blessings into your life on a regular basis. God is always for you but He’s is far more than your genie in a bottle. Just because something seems good doesn’t mean that it’s not potentially harmful. You should rejoice and be just as thankful when He says ‘No’ as when He says ‘Yes’ because both answers are given with your best interests at heart. – Love and Blessings, Pastor Jeff
