Margaret Irvin, 75, devoted wife, mother, Mimi, and cherished friend, went home to meet her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ while surrounded by her loving family on Monday, February 5th, 2024, after a short battle with cancer.

 

She was born on January 3, 1949, in Sulphur Springs, TX to Grady and Dorothy Prim. Margaret graduated from Sulphur Springs High School, attended Texas Tech University, and received her degree from East Texas State University. She taught Art in the Sulphur Springs ISD system for 23 years.

 

Margaret is survived by Glenn Irvin, her loving husband of 53 years; their daughter Holly and son-in-law Jason Thompson, granddaughter Story Thompson Forsman (Drew), grandson Jase Thompson (Bailey) and granddaughter Hattie Thompson all of Sulphur Springs; beloved sister, MaryAnn Murphy of Galveston; nephew, Trent Salch (Megan) of Houston; niece, Susan Salch of Austin; sister-in-law, Nan Cannon of Carrollton; nephew, Chip Cannon (Leah) of Las Colinas; nephew, Skip Cannon (Michelle) of Frisco.

 

Family was always paramount for Margaret. She found the best in every situation and had a wonderful sense of humor, even to the end. She was a genuine person. She will be deeply missed and never forgotten by the many whose lives she touched. She was a member of Grace Methodist Church, Sulphur Springs. She found her spiritual relationship with God in many ways.

 

A small Private Family Graveside service will be held at the City of Sulphur Springs Cemetery on Wednesday, February 7, 2024.

 

In lieu of flowers, Memorials can be made to Grace Methodist Church, P.O. Box 132, Sulphur Springs, TX 75482.

 

Arrangements are under the direction of Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
