Obituary for Waymon Charles “Butch” King

Waymon Charles “Butch” King passed peacefully among family and friends on January 11, 2024.

 

Butch was born in Houston and lived much of his adult life in New Caney, Texas. Butch was a licensed electrician by trade and spent the past 35 years running a business in the traffic signal trade alongside his wife. He has been a resident of Dike, Texas for the past twenty years.

 

Butch was preceded in death by his parents Alfred and Erna King, brother Al King, and sister Sandy Paulus.

 

He is survived by his wife Cathy King; daughter Laura Cathrine and partner Steve Chenault; grandsons Nicholas Vasilakopoulos and Christopher Valle; granddaughter Nic Raye; and great-granddaughter McKenna Cathrine Raye. Butch also leaves behind multiple brothers- and sisters- in law, nieces and nephews, and an extended community of church family and close friends.

 

Services for Butch will be held at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home in Sulphur Springs. The family will be accepting visitors on Wednesday, January 17, 2024 from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. A funeral service, led by Pastor Mark Garrett of Grace Family Church, will be held on Thursday, January 18, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. followed by a graveside farewell at Restlawn Cemetery in Sulphur Springs.

 

Arrangements are under the direction of Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
