Obituary for Mary Towers
Graveside service for Mary Towers, age 75, of Dike, Texas, will be at 2:30 P.M. on Wednesday, December 27, 2023, at Connor Cemetery with Shorty Bishop officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Allen Nelson, Casey Phillips, T.G. Sandifeer, and Cary Barnett, with Ralph Calhoun and Bradley Brewer serving as honorary pallbearers. Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, December 27, 2023, at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home. Mrs. Towers passed away on Friday, December 22, 2023, in her home.
Mary was born to Robert Vincent and Nell Katherine (Smith) VanRiper on July 6, 1948, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. After attending school, she married Noel Anthony “Jack” Towers on January 30, 1980, in Irving, Texas. She worked as an assembly line worker, as a clerk for Dollar General, and most importantly as a homemaker, caring for her husband and her children.
She is survived by her husband, Jack Towers of Dike, Texas; son, Michael Wolfe of Dike, Texas; daughter, Jennifer Brewer and husband, Bradley of Ft. Worth, Texas; grandchildren, Lukas Belz, Meredith Brewer, and Ethan Brewer; brother, Raymond VanRiper of Burnet, Texas; and her special niece, Kathy Barnett and husband, Cary of Saltillo, Texas.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Nell VanRiper; and two of her brothers.
